Walking Lightly - An Adventure in South America

Hello!! Welcome to my web page and have a look around.....

I created this web page to keep in touch with family, friends, and students. Why the name "walking lightly"? Well, I will be FREE..no responsibilities, no deadlines, no rent to pay. Take away my car keys, my check book and the daily routine and I will be walking lightly... It is amazing how travel strips off the layers of stress that daily life plasters on, leaving only optimism, energy, and laughter. (Of course, I will not be walking lightly while carrying my backpack but probably sweating profusely!)

In August I will leave New York to travel independently around South America for eleven months: arriving in Quito, Ecuador and leaving from Rio de Janiero, Brazil. Although I don't really have a plan, I do know the countries I want to visit and friends are meeting me in certain places along the way, so it would probably be nice of me to be there since they are flying quite a long way to see me...

I have a basic direction planned -from Ecuador I will travel south to the Tierra del Fuego and then north to Brazil. But knowing how things work out on the road, that could definitely change...

If all goes as planned, I will leave on August 5 and return in June to see my Seniors graduate!
